Loan Periods, Fines, and Other Service Information

Loan Periods & Fines

Books, audio, and other print materials:Circ Desk 2

  • are checked out for a free two-week loan period.
  • may be renewed once for an additional two-week loan period.  This renewal may be done by phone or in person.  (After one renewal, the item may be rechecked out if no holds are on the item.  This must be done in person.)
  • accrue fines of 10 cents per day for every day overdue.

DVDs:

  • are checked out for a one-week loan period.
  • are free rentals if they are designated as such by the library; no deposit is required for checkout.
  • are $1.00 rentals for teal-taped DVDs and $2.00 rentals for other DVDs; a $1.00 deposit is required to rent these DVDs. 
  • deposit is refunded when the DVDs are returned on time to the circulation desk.  DVDs returned to the drop box forfeit their deposit.  Late fines are deducted from deposits for DVDs returned late.
  • may not be renewed.  (They may be returned and rechecked out if no holds are on the item.  This must be done in person.)
  • accrue fines of 50 cents per day for every day overdue.

Digital materials:

  • are checked out for a free 14 day loan period.
  • may not be renewed.  (They may be borrowed again if no holds are on the item.)
  • do not accrue any fines and do not count against account limits of physical materials.
  • are ultimately governed by policies shared by the Library Cooperative’s online catalog.

Account Limits

Each library card is limited to borrowing a total of 4 DVDs at one time. 

Each library card is limited to borrowing a total of 10 items at one time.  This is a combination of all items checked out, including those through interlibrary loan.

Extended Loan Periods/Amounts

Extended loan periods/amounts are available when prearranged with the library director. 

Other Library Services

  • Copies cost 25 cents per page.  Cardstock copies cost 35 cents per page.
  • Color copies cost 50 cents per page.
  • Sending faxes costs $1.00 for the first page and 25 cents for each additional page. 
  • Receiving faxes at the library is free; please let the staff know to expect one.
  • PLEASE NOTE: The library and its staff are not responsible for faxes that do not reach their destinations. This includes faxes that aren’t received due to poor line conditions or those that are lost at your recipient number. Faxing overseas is not allowed.
